Web Seminars -
How much time do you spend travelling to meetings and conferences? How much fuel do you use, and how much carbon is emitted? Nothing can replace face-to-face meetings, but does every meeting have to be face-to-face? A quick follow-up, a short discussion, the answer to a question - all these can now be solved on line using Web Seminars. In line with my personal environmental policy of cutting out unnecessary travel, I will shortly announce a series of on-line live briefings on energy and climate change. To participate, all you will need is an internet connection. for the initial sessions your costs will be a local phone call and half an hour of your time. Here's how it works Your computer screen will look a bit like this.
You can join the seminar from your desktop - at home, in the office or even in a coffee shop. You can see the presentation and join the discussion. You'll always know who's speaking - there's a green diamond against their name as you can see on the attendee list above. Other windows allow you to send questions and comments via real-time chat, to see the agenda and take part in instant polls. This is the future of seminars and workshops, and above all it's green. Over the next few weeks I am going to invite experts and specialists to join me and give their views and answer questions. If you would like to join us, download my guide to setting an environmental policy and I'll send you details as soon as they are finalised. To ensure that everyone can benefit fully from these web seminars, each session will be limited to 20 participants
